Course Objectives With this course the student; The aim of this course is to teach the reasons of drying and steaming of wood materials, the benefits to be obtained as a result of drying and steaming and the methods that are used for this purpose, to reveal the problems that may be encountered during the application of drying and steaming processes and to offer solutions.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to express the theory of wood drying
  • Will be able to explain factors affecting drying period
  • Will be able to apply drying techniques and drying programs with different techniques
  • Will be able to apply drying techniques and drying programs with different techniques
  • Will be able to evaluate special drying methods
  • Will be able to apply steaming methods and steaming cells.
Course Description This course includes topics such as timber drying theory, factors affecting drying time, drying defects, special drying methods and steaming facilities.
